They refer to you by name when you close out your tab. This place is so homey and relaxing and comforting. The perfect place to grab a drink after a long day of work. The night gets louder/more relaxing as the night goes on.

I asked for a whiskey old fashion. It was made perfectly with a very good whiskey. Nice selection of beers. Very classy place. It also has an outdoor back area if you wish quieter environs.

Went on a Tuesday evening, and they had a good band playing. Chuck was a fantastic bartender! There is a patio out back and a menu for the delicious Falbos Pizza next door. They were kind enough to walk the food over and hand deliver it! PS great view of the capitol building from outside the front door

An absolutely fantastic establishment. Friendly bartenders, delicious drinks and a great atmosphere. The outdoor patio in the summer is a real treat and a perfect place for great conversations. In February of 2018, I went on a first date here and a week ago, we brought our wedding party here to stop for photos and a drink before our reception. Cannot recommend this bar enough.

Comfort spot for a good beer or tonic. Draw herself a coaster inside this eclectic liminal commons. Musicians play over a trapdoor so you know they’re on point. No food but there’s a great pizza joint next door if you need a slice, or a pie. Step out front and the Cap is just to the NW. Go out back and hideaway in a little raised bed grotto if that’s more yer style. Something, or nothing for everyone and no one. Cross the street get back in the canoe and head back towards Yahara. Love it. Live it.

Had a 30 person gathering early in the evening to celebrate my husband's new job. The owner was very chill and offered an area reserved for us and people spread out, inside and out, happily enjoying the sun. I brought in appetizers and some flowers and the bartenders were so kind. Very low key gathering which is the vibe for this place and perfect for the event.

The atmosphere was really nice and friendly. The bartender Chuck was amazing and quick. I was there for the jazz night. It was pretty cool to see live jazz but I didn’t enjoy the violinist that much. I live that the next door has this pizza place that everyone would order from and they would come over and deliver your pizza. Pretty cool neighbor experience.

The Mason is a fun local bar that has a great vibe. No tvs. They make all their drinks from scratch. Grab a drink from the Mason!!
