Mom's Basement

Initially when I first came here, this place wasn't my vibe. But I was coming at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and getting the College Crowd, which just hasn't ever been my thing. Every other time, however, has been exactly what I needed. The happy hour rates are excellent, the service is immaculate, and the general vibe is just so comforting. It's truly starting to become my home away from home, and I truly have no complaints. Whitney is absolutely my favorite bartender, with Ben in at a close second. All of the owners have shown nothing but kindness to everyone who comes through the door, and the vast majority of the regulars are friendly, down-to-earth people. It's really not hard to make a new friend here. I truly, 100% recommend coming to Mom's Basement for the weeknight crowd. A truly pleasurable experience!

Worth a visit. Week days it's a good stop to have a drink with friends and enjoy the decor.

I was really young and full of courage many sun cycles ago when I found myself shooting darts, taking shots, going back to “yard” and lighting ourselves with the regulars, then I got shitfaced, asked for a cab and directions to the next hotel. Got back up next day and my car was untouched, had one more beer for breakfast and left with a heart full of gratitude! I miss Birmingham!

Was in the bar having a great time and then we went to the car to grab something and the bouncer wouldn't let us in, we didn't even realize he was a worker no badge, uniform or station. He asked for our ID we told him they already had it behind the counter and he responded get your stuff and leave. He was trying to direct traffic to a certain door and we had been her multiple times and never been told to use that for do we thought he was a random. His name was Dave:⁠'⁠(

This is now my favorite bar in Birmingham. The staff is the absolute best. The “blonde bartender” is so nice, and so efficient. Never seen a bartender work so hard, and keep such a good attitude. She’s not the only one though. The entire staff is flat out amazing.

Always a good time at Moms! The drinks are cheap, the pool tables are good, and the bartenders are friendly and attentive. Especially the blonde girl! The only downside is that it can get busy on the weekends

Such a unique and fun little dive bar. Service is friendly and despite the “dingy” aesthetic, the bar itself is super clean.
