New OC Tavern

San Clemente has a new kitchen and chef that may very well be the best in town. We also have a menu that may be the best value in town. The food is absolutely unbelievable, actually had to eat three entrees it was that good. I started out with the Meat Lovers pizza, the dough, sauce and abundance of toppings made it one of the best pizzas I have ever had. It reminded me of my Grandma's home made. Next I went onto the Cajun Salmon, the Salmon literaly melted apart, the Cajun seasoning was bold but not over salted, there was also a Safron sauce had me thinking of delicious paella, the presentation with the shark fin tortilla chip was an awesome touch as well. Now for the grand finale and best part the Ciopino, the best I have ever had, the tomato base was to die for, with some really nice sweetness to it but no acid. It was packed full of so much amazing fish i couldn't believe it. The lobster tail was substantial and pulled right out of the shell. I am so blessed to have this awesome establishment two blocks from home. First time here and I am hooked as regular. Last but not least was the beer, I had the Artifex IPA and it was cold, bold and crisp. Everything here is so clean it was like John Tapper was here earlier in the day. Our waitress Taylor was amazing: knowledgeble and super attnetive. The New OC Tavern is rescue for the record books. What an awesome way to spend my birthday. This used to be a place where we went to have a nice meal with comfortable seating. Now the only seats and real tables are on the outside patio. The food is not great, chicken was way over done and was like cardboard. Plus, they forgot my nephews entree entirely. They were more focused on serving the bar patrons then the family wanting dinner.

Awesome local spot. OTB wagering area. Nice pool table area. Circular bar with outside patio area. Great menu options, excellent food. Drinks aplenty. Patrons that like to drink n have fun. Stop in you'll be stoked you did..cheers.

Wow! Drink order tasted very watered down. Food was a small portion which turned out to be okay because the fish tasted like cardboard. The service took forever and I had to fetch my own utensils and condiments. Couldn’t even find someone to pay my tab without an unnecessary wait. Won’t be back and you shouldn’t go.

We were pleasantly surprised to find healthy delicious salads that day. If we lived there we would definitely go back. The staff were great too, tons of TV's, love this place!

Went there for my friend’s birthday celebration last night and I must say that this place is legit! Beers were nice and cold, the food was amazing (I had the Ciopino and highly recommend it) and the staff is very friendly and professional. I felt like I was at home. Will be back for sure!

Large enough to get seated and find a TV which is rare in socal. Service is always with a beautiful smile and beers are cold. Breakfast burrito is amazing. Skinny and fat ! Heaters on patio. Lots of parking in back. I see children on Sunday afternoons usually so kids are welcome. Please like this post if you find helpful.

What happened to this place? It seemed like a place that should be on bar rescue. I was there for two hours for two people at lunch on a Saturday and there was maybe about 10 people in the place. I love this place, but not sure what happened to it .
