Norseman Distillery

Updating my review. We visited Norseman distillery on Taft St. in Minneapolis again, and I still recommend it! I love that they do flights, so you can try 4 of their offerings at a time. I tried both gins, their aged aquavit, and their Danske aquavit. They were all interesting. I find navy strength gin a bit "hot", but a little water fixed that. Their cocktails are excellent, imaginative and fun. My husband had the Kafka on the Shore. It is very complex and topped with a shitake meringue!! I had the Yellow jacket, and despite my trepidation, found it super good. Their Reyk cocktail, which is whiskey based, was also well balanced. They have a super interesting way of smoking the cocktail and serving it. We tried one of their pizzas. Great crust, wild toppings...we had the banh mi pizza. Good but not great. The bartenders are super knowledgeable about their products and about cocktails. You can get things at the bar you cannot buy. That is very cool indeed. I highly recommend stopping by!

I had one of the seasonal cocktails, and it was delicious! Light and still flavorful, perfect balance of flavor. I also ordered the key lime pie, and as someone who primarily grew up in FL, this was definitely somewhere in the top 3. I can't wait to come back and try something new. Their service was also very friendly and personable. Great patio space as well.

So first of all I want to say that the service was good and the drink I ordered was really good too. But paying literally ruined the experience for me. 'Hiding' the service fee in the fine print, not telling people about it and then having the nerve to actually recommend a 7% tip is insane. I know the tipping culture in America is out of hand a this point, but the places we visited before at least had the honesty to tell us about their additional charges. My 15$ cocktail actually cost me 22$. Great drinks, good atmosphere - still would go somewhere else next time.

Norseman makes some of the best cocktails in town. Been coming back every time I’m in Minnesota. My only issue is the 21% fee on groups over 7 people - it feels a bit predatory and I feel that the servers should inform the guests (even though it’s in very small fine print on the menu on one side of the menu). A $15 drink ended up being $21 after fees, tax and a $1 tip.

My fiancee, a few friends, and I all came here for Trivia Mafia. None of us had been here before and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was and the overall drink and food offerings. I got an Old Fashioned (which was excellent) and my fiancee got a Negroni. One of our friends got the Mule and everybody said their drinks were fantastic (and potent). I didn't have any food but everyone that did said it was tasty. Most of the options were flatbread type meals/snacks with lots of variations on that. Trivia was also great and the distillery had a dedicated space for that. The service was fantastic throughout and we'll definitely be coming again. 5 stars from me!

Such a cool distillery! The drinks are so fun, and the food (by Kinfolk) was also really great. The space is really open and spacious, very fun & unique. Very cool distillery. Great drinks. We didn't have food there, just a stop over for a get together with friends for some drinks. The staff was great and so were the drinks we ordered. I will go back, there is more to explore.

Norseman distillery is an excellent place to meet friends, have a party, or go on a date. They distill all their own spirits and have a drink menu that ranges from traditional to innovative. The atmosphere is chic, with an industrial-meets-cozy vibe by mixing their warehouse architecture with domestic comforts like a fireplace and sofas. Spirits are available for sale.
