Pause Massage

My birthday was yesterday and by it being on a Tuesday, I wanted to just relax. I received a gift card to PAUSE and decided to book a last minute massage. Luckily for me there was an opening for me to get a massage after (work) 5p.m. I booked the 7pm Fall Ritual special they are running. When making the appointment they asked if I preferred a male or female masseuse. Although I had never had a “professional” massage by a man, I didn’t have a preference. It was after 7pm so there was free street parking. There is plenty of metered parking on the next block if all of the free ones are taken. The receptionists were very kind, the spiced cider was extremely tasty, and check in was seamless. The bathrooms are in an unfinished hallway, but clean. I received the most amazing massage by Jeff! I came in with a knot in my back, neck, and a headache. I left not wanting the massage to end! He was very professional and superb customer service. The massage had room for refinement, but most certainly was worth every penny! I will be back! Book Jeff!

Had deep tissue massage with Jeff. Was kind of weird because deep tissue massages I get are usually focused on slower, deeper pressure with an emphasis on knots. This massage was mostly a lot of quick movements that I didn’t feel were focused on finding and isolating knots. It was weird that there wasn’t any attention on my quads, only hamstrings too. Nice receptionist and location, but weird deep tissue massage for the price.

Had an amazing experience at Pause. Jeff was incredible - I had a lot of knots in my upper back, and he spent so much time working on that. Also, I’ve never gotten an IT band message, and Jeff was great. Highly recommend!

I had an excellent deep tissue massage with Jeffery. I was in Chicago for a conference and struggling with neck, back, and shoulder pain from traveling - he worked out my knots with the perfect amount of pressure. Highly recommend him!

So excited to have finally been able to have a massage at Pause (I live on the Wisconsin border.) Janelle was wonderful!! Even better than I was already expecting! My neck & shoulders were very tight & felt amazing after! First massage where I've left feeling such an overall sense of well-being. The facility is beautiful, feels very peaceful, & is in a great location.

The place smelt nice and the customer service was great. I got Nija as my masseuse(Cupping Massage Therapy). She was amazing with her hands and made sure I felt comfortable and if there was too much pressure. I would definitely recommend her. I haven’t gotten a massage in a LONG time and I did feel sore days later but I felt so free and relaxed afterwards. Thank you Nija!

Have had a few deep tissue massages at Pause. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Jeff does a fantastic job with my neck/ shoulder tension. Highly recommend Pause for sure !

We are from Texas and spontaneously moved decided to get a massage. We did a couples massage and this was a great choice. We thoroughly enjoyed the 80 min massage. If we are ever back in Chicago we will definitely make a it a place to visit.
