I felt compelled to leave a review due to all the bad reviews. I came in with *very* low expectations due to the reviews prior- but being from Austin and visiting lots of cities bars/ gay bars- I LOVE a dive. A dive is not something you create, it just is as a bar- and this one is no different. The bar tender was taking his time, but once you order- you are good. The prices are bar none the best in the city (my Heineken was $3.50- yes you read that right). The vibe inside is Smokey and old gay bar- as previous reviewers have said if you don’t like that- go out back. Two patios are outside plus an outside “poolside” bar. Plus on this block there is another bar (also smoking) if you need a respite from the action.

The bartender is rude if you aren’t a regular to their establishment. He was making comments that there is a 2 drink minimum or we need to leave. We weren’t even in the place for 5 minutes and he kept harassing us, even though some of use were actively ordering drinks and opening a tab. He kept making more rude comments about how we are not supporting their local economy and we should pack up and go to the other gay bar. It appears that there are some other reviews mentioning this same exact experience. We were happy to go to the other option down the street that has a small cover charge, good AC, no cigarette smell, and no attitude.

It's a nice neighborhood bar. One detraction is that they allow smoking but if you can go sit on the back patio it's worth it. The bartender was prompt and the drinks were good. We ran into a Log Cabin Republican and decided to run to a different bar after that, but it's still a good place to be. N

first time visiting. It was really cool cause they had a pool in the back. It was somebody's birthday so I got to help decorate. Everybody was really nice the staff and the customers.

Bar was definitely a dive, but sometimes those are the best. It was cheap and entertaining. Cowboy Tom is nice and a great socializer. AND they have a bar(bodega) cat, which I’ve never seen before!

I'm all about a gay dive bar, but it's got to have the speedy and friendly bartenders to back it up. This bar has neither. The very simple drinks took forever and they were served with a scowl. What's worse is that the bar gets ridiculously smokey from them continuing to allow people to smoke indoors. Learn to progress... Second-hand smoke is carcinogenic and pretty disgusting. It's unfortunate that this is the only real gay bar in Galveston. That said, I'd rather go to the piano bar on the other side of town for a clean, smoke free and friendly experience.

Horrible please if you are gay and if you are looking for entertainment avoid this please. Is full of smoke and crack people. I found that they were over serving on this guy on the leather night and they don’t tell him anything. He threw drinks at us and was very insulting. And the staff never did anything, just kept over serving…..Completely unresponsive place.

The bartender Thursday I believe his name is Alex. Was incredibly rude, no hi, no thanks. Expects a tip for bad service, and was demanding for a tip. Whoever the manager is, please get rid of him. Not going back again until he is gone. Sincerely regulars.
