New digs for a 75+-year-old gathering spot, with beers, Belgian fries & pub fare, but less graffiti.

Located at a very inconspicuous corner, this bar is a real gem. You have a lot of options for different beers on tap (many of them served cold in glasses bearing the name of the drink you choose). They also have happy hours (which I plan on exploiting soon)! The ambience is nice and laid back, the service is good - the best part though is the food. This has been my 4th visit - fish and chips, fries, burritos and (this time) the chicken tacos were all AMAZING. You wouldn't expect to find such breathtaking food being served in such an unassuming, fun setup. Do make sure you ask for the garlic tomato ketchup and wonder how you ever lived in the past so joylessly without it. If you're within 20-30 mins of this place, give it a visit!

Stopped in before going to a show at the Westville Music Bowl. Got the New Haven Burger. That may have been the most juicy flavorful burger I've had in a long time. Sandwich is huge so cutting it in half may have made eating in a little easier. Great fries. Would definitely go back when in the area.

Jordan is the best bartender and makes newcomers feel like old time patrons. Fun spot! Good food and great drinks!

stumbled upon this bar during our stay and honestly, hospitality, service and food were beyond amazing! the menu is huge and can’t wait to come back to try more. Oh and if you get Kevin at the bar, he’s the best!

Jordan and Claire were the best bartenders I have had while traveling. They were told to close out early, but took good care of patrons until closing time. An amazing local bar in a fun part of town!

Went Sunday night around 8:30. Old male bartender was there. Very rude, ugly, and old. Idk how that guy has a job. Mumbling under his breath for us to go else where for food, terrible vibe. Will never be back. Whoever owns this place must just hire anybody! Zero stars.

The good: If you sit at the bar is a good experience, otherwise it is pain ordering when is full of people. The sandwiches and burguer are ok with good flavor. The beer selection is the best here because you can find some European beers that are difficult to get in other places. I lived in the Netherlands, and Belgium fries are everywhere, and you can recognize it then for size and freshness and yellow color. Unfortunately, Rudy's doesn't have Belgium fries as they claim (see picture attached) The fries seem to be cooked in old oil and seem to be frozen and not fresh cut. The fries never have to be dark brown. The selection of sauces is interesting. I would it avoid the fries, but the beer arr worth the visit.

Service and atmosphere are great! Went there for Sunday brunch (not mimosas, unsure if they have any // I didn’t look for it) and had a good time. They offer a wide variety of sauces, and the ones I tried were all good. Fries were yummy, but main dishes left something to be desired. They were good overall though and the service quality makes up for it! I’d come back.
