Sand Bar and Island Grill

We enjoyed renting a boat next to this restaurant and swung by for drinks, appetizers. Ambiance was lively, and we really enjoyed the decor, theme. Food was very good and came out pretty quickly. This would be a 5 star review if it wasn’t for our server, Marla who was quite pushy and doesn’t understand restaurant etiquette. We ordered appetizers and beers and then we ordered a few more appetizers and a burger and she was expecting all of us to order an individual meal when we just had a nice picnic on the boat and wanted to just spend more fun times with friends. Marla, after we ordered a second round of appetizers, said “That’s it?! That’s weird”. Made everyone feel awkward and bad. I own a successful restaurant also, and if my servers ever said that to our customers they would no longer be working for me. If you do what’s right, you’ll be compensated well, regardless.

First time at the Sand Bar and Island Grill! The place was busy so we sat at the bar, great atmosphere ad lively. To start we tried the bang bang shrimp, perfect amount of sauce on top and not terribly spicy just a kick. For dinner we ordered the grouper sandwich with fries and the lobster mac, both tasted amazing, the grouper was cooked perfectly. The beach chair cocktail was very refreshing. Can’t wait to come back again soon! Our new favorite spot to eat on the lake.

The Sand Bar and Island grill was the perfect setting for a tropical evening. Our seafood tasted OUTSTANDING! We had bang bang shrimp and crab cakes for appetizers. The food was fresh and great tasting. Our party had shrimp tacos, red snapper, a surf and turf burger, and a shrimp poor boy sandwich. The island coleslaw was super tasty with pineapple and mango. Owner came by our table to meet our German son and his girlfriend visiting from Germany. The food and atmosphere were perfect for our family reunion!

We love coming here! This little place has lots to offer. From very friendly bartenders, amazing food and cool atmosphere, you can't go wrong. But this place is small so get in early, we always find ourselves at the bar but I personally don't mind, we just love it there. The shrimp cocktail is some of the best around too!

Having grown up with a vacation home in Twin Lakes, though it's been years since I've been in the area, it was great to see such a fun place on the lake. The vibe and food were great! The menu offers a wide variety of choices. We had delicious oysters, and the lobster roll and shrimp tacos were excellent. The cocktail selections were also fun and delicious. Last but not least, the wait staff was friendly and attentive. Congrats to the new owners! They are off to a great start! I will definitely be back soon!

3rd time there....food was excellent. Our group rented pontoon boat after eating, awesome staff, perfect day.

Our waiter was extremely nice and our food was nothing special, but filling. The fishing/water atmosphere was incredible. Would not come here for any quiet or private meal because its always pretty busy. Otherwise it's cute and a good go-to meal.
