Shelby Street Tavern

Went here with my partner today for the first time. We recently moved from east side and were hoping to find a good place to haunt. This is the place! The atmosphere was amazing, it wasn't too loud, and there's a digital jukebox where you can play music you like! The bartender/server was very sweet, made us feel at home, and overall gave us a wonderful first experience. The food is top quality for so so cheap, and the cook does an excellent job at what he does!! When we checked out, the bartender even asked for our names so he'd know us when we return, and I've never had someone do that before! So overall, absolutely incredible experience and if you love good music, an old timey vibe, service that makes you feel like family, and incredible food for a low price (and free refills on sodas and lemonade-oh yeah!) then this is the place for you! My partner and I love this place and us fellas will be returning VERY SOON!

Very welcoming and love the live music. Staff is always so kind and on top of it. Leaf really stands out with her attentiveness. Speak easy upstairs is beautiful and patio upstairs is very nice place to unwind on a summer day.

Met some coworkers there Friday night. Great atmosphere and service. Clearly a family operation. I had a good St. Joseph's Joetoberfest beer and a great burger. Juicy and flavorful with ample fresh vegetable toppings. The building is an old, neighborhood bar that has been revived. I heard there's some history to the building, and I look forward to going back to eat, drink, and learn more.

Don't let the exterior fool you! This place is really nice and welcoming. The inside has been updated and looks great! It's clean, modern, and relaxed. The first floor is fairly small, so on busy nights I could see it getting a little cramped, but don't let that dissuade you! Even the bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Their food menu is small, but the chicken, bacon, and ranch pizza was really good. The BBQ sauce on top was a bit weird though. They had a good selection of drinks, however I think the kegerator was on the fritz because the beer I got was not cold, but still tasted fine. The bartender was incredibly friendly, and the owners came in at one point and seemed genuinely interested in getting customer feedback and asked about what sort of events would folks be interested in. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

I went to a drag brunch, which are the first and third Sunday of the month. It was a lovely experience. First, the buffet style brunch food was delicious. Good for vegetarians and meat eaters. Second, the queens were incredible. So entertaining and talented. Third, the atmosphere was great. It’s a small environment which actually built a bit of a community feel for the show. My overall experience was wonderful. The only recommendation is that is close quarters which made it hard for customers, servers, and queens to move around. So glad that the tavern is bringing the fun to this community.

Bartender Leaf is the best!!! Reasonably priced drinks, good food, and GAY PEOPLE they have events thru out the week, like trivia, and a super cool speakeasy. Always good vibes and music without being overstimulated.

I have to give Buzz and Mel 5 stars. The chicken dinner was so freaking delicious, the servings are for us big eaters. The fried chicken livers are also fire. I like their establishment, it's friendly and inviting. Only thing I'd like to see is, they get Jim Beam Redstag in. They have every other flavor but, Redstag. So glad I stopped in to try your food, certainly impressed and not at all disappointed. I look forward to the next time, you have won my business.

Shelby Street Tavern is such a great spot in our neighborhood. Happy to call it a favorite. ❤️
