Great bar layout with sweet patio space and open kitchen. Beautiful wood bar, it's obvious they spent time and money designing the whole joint. Good beer selection and food menu- we only had deviled eggs which are great but they have good organic and vegetarian options . Went to watch a sports game and it was perfect! The only drawback was they were playing country music??!!

If you're looking for a bar with some east coast feel this one is pretty good. Music is usually better than my spotify playlist.

They got free peanuts! Vibes were overall good. A rainier tall boy was $7 and I paid cash. That’s an insane price for a rainier tall boy.

Shingletown is a country themed bar on Market in the downtown Ballard area. It's known for the indoor theme, hay on the floor, country music and a younger crowd. The staff here are great, super friendly and quick with drinks. They have karaoke some nights. At night, past 11, they are usually packed with a line to get in. Overall a fun place to come drink if you are OK being around a younger crowd shoulder to shoulder.

Have been a longtime fan of shingletown and will not be returning. Very disappointed and disheartened by staffs response and failure to protect women and general lack of care for women’s safety. Went out with friends and was having a great time, it’s around Halloween so it was pretty busy. Us three women waited in line to use the bathroom for about twenty minutes which is usual for a busy night. When we entered the restroom a belligerently drunk and very large man forced his way into the bathroom as we tried to close the door. He was saying he needed to go really quick and cursing at us. Things escalated and a group of large and extremely intoxicated men were forcing their way into the bathroom and had us cornered. They were screaming at us, cussing, threatening us and would not get out or let us exit. Finally an onlooker stepped in and helped us exit the bathroom. Three bartenders were standing right there and had seen and heard the entire thing and did not act. All of the men who threatened us and followed us into the bathroom were allowed to stay and continued to follow us through the bar calling us names and threatening us. I finally made it to the front to ask the manager for help, and he (smelling strongly like beer) said “oh yeah that happens it’s busy tonight” I pointed the men out who were in very distinct and obvious costumes and still nothing was done. None of us felt safe anymore and left since men followed us into the bathroom and continued to follow us through the bar and staff did absolutely nothing. Extremely disappointed by the lack of regard for women’s safety and the clearly intoxicated “manager.” I know it’s a country bar, and have loved it here, but NEVER expected the misogyny to extend to ignoring and enabling men to threaten the safety of women and follow them into the bathroom. If you’re a women and value your safety and don’t want men following you into a bathroom and staff to blatantly enable men to make you unsafe, don’t go here. Negative stars.

Honestly I love this bar on drinking nights. The hay is on the floor and people love to enjoy themselves. I know no country songs but I go with the flow. I have been here twice and plan on coming back
