I moved to Philadelphia slightly over a year ago, and Stir was the first bar I explored due to a manager’s recommendation. This bar is fantastic! So welcoming, well priced, and centrally located. Bartender (Jarrett) is personable, amicable, and definitely will make you a GREAT drink! Recommend this place 100%

Hi I wanted to come on and say every time I enter Stir, I have a welcomed platform to meet , mingle and drink! I also want to comment on Colleen McNickle's 1 star review below, the specific date she mentioned happened to be my friend's drag event which started at 9 / 9:30p.m. My friend, a woman, was working the ticket table, as the signage was very visible there was a paid event happening in the back bar area (I put it up!) I'm very sorry a strange man turned you away but I assure you that they were not working with the Stir establishment and you might of been talking to a random patron. Come again!

Went to this bar with my girlfriend for our first time in Philly after moving her up here. Was not clear which part of the bar was open access. We stepped into the back section, quickly turning around. As we turned around the man collecting money said, “are you going to pay?” we quickly let him know that we were turned around and were heading back to the main area. He said, “do not come back then.” His tone was so condescending and rude. Honestly a horrible welcome to the gay scene in the city. We walked right out of the bar and will not be returning. This happened on sept. 21, 2024 at around 9:40 pm. I suggest the establishment hire more friendly and helpful workers.

First time here and I’ll be back again. Love the vibe and the bartender is super nice.

I went here last night after reading really amazing reviews. I’m not exaggerating when I say that every positive thing in those reviews LITERALLY happened. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted warmly by the bartenders. By yourself? Trying to meet new people? Not a problem! The bartenders and owner go out of their way to make you feel welcome and easily get complete strangers to have pleasant, memorable conversations. I felt that I was outgrowing other gay bars in the city and I’m glad that this bar has a more professional crowd of people and a platonic safe-space vibe as opposed to other gay bars have the tendency to be a little more quid pro quo. Oh, and the drinks are really good. I had a couple of the stir cosmos and they were tasty as hell but you will definitely feel it when ya stand up! No complaints! I can’t wait to go back!

Wife and I had a blast at Stir. Met Terry and he was an amazing mixologist. Made a fantastic Manhattan and even substituted the bourbon of my choice. Manhattan was perfect. Place was fun with a great diverse crowd. Can’t wait to return. Thanks Stir bar and Terry.

Super cute gay bar! The owner Stacy and Chase the bartender were so sweet to us. We make a point to come here every time we're in town now. Highly recommend!
