Tender Mercy

Went to Dozo sushi restaurant behind Tender Mercy after going down under the street. Fish flown in weekly and menu changes monthly. Chef and Sous Chef were great. Cool, small venue. Pretty expensive for what you get, but loved it. $75 pp for 11 single handmade sushi pieces, and a desert. Options for add-ons and sake and wine pairings.

I love Tender Mercy, the drinks and service here are always beyond expectations! I love how creative their cocktails are, and being that they have residencies you can experience new drinks regularly. Beyond the drinks is the ramen that they’ve begun serving on Wednesday nights. I’m unimpressed with the quality of my ramen; the noodles were still stuck together and under cooked, the broth was boring and salty, and the portion was a tad small for the price. The pork was delicious and the duck egg was a nice touch though! Definitely worth revisiting in the future as I tried the ramen on the second Wednesday after they introduced it.

This is a Dozo review. The food was great, the atmosphere was phenomenal, and the service hit the spot. Was very happy with the food and the value, as well as the banter from the bar. Will be back.

One of the best food experiences of our lives if not not the absolute BEST one! The food was superb, the service was great, overall was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended and is one of the must visits in Dayton. We left the place with a smile and food that we cannot forget. Start to finish it did not disappoint, KUDUS to the Chef and the great staff. The Bar: Service was GREAT! Drinks were good. But people were too LOUD, and when I say LOUD; I mean it. Seating is too cluster and the essence smell will cause a headache. People should try it and see for themselves. Valet is a FANTASTIC option.

Quite possibly the greatest cocktail bar of all time! First, you enter by literally going underground. Once inside, the ambiance is dark and mysterious (my husband says it looks like a fancy vampire decorated it). The staff is incredibly helpful and the drinks are beyond compare! We went there to celebrate our anniversary and the bartender made us a special drink. It's not on the menu, but I highly recommend asking about the Milk Punch. If you like fun cocktails, you won't regret it! Please don't drive through Dayton without stopping by!

I have visited Tender Mercy four times, and every time I am greeted with wonderful service, exemplary drinks, and an enjoyable atmosphere. The monthly residency menu is fantastic, their regular menu is excellent, and I find myself coming back every month to dry new drinks. This is my favorite experience in Dayton!

Tender Mercy is an escape from the norm, a welcome break from a long day, a mood for the right occasion... whatever you need it to be, the libations, atmosphere, and service are consistently excellent. I'm especially happy that Chef Lawrence and Dozo are part of the experience now, with their omakaze like, set tasting menu. Everything delicious and with well balanced flavors.

In one word: WOW! Thank you for bringing the cocktail scene to Dayton. Brighton was amazing - providing an impromptu apperativi tasting. The first part of the menu is all draft cocktails poured from taps. The other house cocktails are available after 7pm. Pro Tip: You can request off menu classic craft cocktails, so challenge your bartender, they got you!
