Been going to the abbey since 2008. One of my favorite hangout spots and usually there during the day or early evenings for cocktails and/or eats. Food is always good but waaay over priced now. It’s not Mastros but price is the same. Drinks are hit or miss and standard drinks on menu can be made wildly different each time you order. Example mojitos sometimes muddled, sometimes not. Sometimes have splash of dark rum and sometimes do not. You just don’t know each time you order one. Atmosphere is nice because of the large outdoor space and music isn’t blasting like it is most places. Service is one of the absolute worst around. Staff is usually friendly (not always) but almost always inattentive. You’ll often arrive and have to wait for ever to have a server come by. Many times you’ll have to get up and ask for a server. Meal orders sometimes wrong. If you ask to split a check (before ordering) many times told you can’t or you get an obvious eye roll to make it clear to you that it’s putting them out to create two separate checks for a table. Drag shows are nice and all but for locals it ruins the weekends at Abbey. Same performers week after week after week. Both sat and Sundays is a drag show so weekend during the day have been taken over by that. Because of this the patrons are a lot of straight women from out of town and doesn’t feel as much as a gay bar that it used to be. Feels very touristy now on the weekend days. Weekends during the day used to be very busy and packed in a fun way, but it’s often now half full. Just isn’t what it used to be unfortunately. Maybe with new ownership it will change and hope it does.

Love the gourmet food and service. Great fun atmosphere and people dancing. Sat by the fireplace and it was lovely!

A must to visit in West Hollywood for a drink or food . We went last Tuesday night for tacos and Margaritas. Love the outdoor area with heatlamps. Tacos $4 50 each on Tuesdays and they were very good, not amazing but a 4. Service was a little slow to start but the doorman helped us to a table and with menus. Our server was extremely busy but so nice and drinks and food reasonably quick. Recommend.

Venerable bar & restaurant in WeHo with go-go dancers. Came here during Pride Weekend and it was a 2 hour wait (arrived ~10pm). Limited metered street parking is available but read the signs! I’d suggest coming here earlier rather than later to avoid a long wait, as even pre-covid there was usually a long line. Social distancing wasn’t enforced and masks were required when you were walking in (not sure how things might’ve changed with California’s reopening). The workers all wore masks, though the bouncer that night did have a lengthy discussion about why he didn’t have the vaccine with my friend and another group. Credit cards are accepted. Bathrooms are available by the back bar. When I went, the Abbey was functioning primarily as a restaurant so it wasn’t as crowded and the go-go dancers were separated from patrons. If you get food, the nachos were large and I liked the melted cheese. The fries are thicker cut and come with ranch and ketchup. The chicken (we kept calling it popcorn chicken but I’m not sure what it was) was also generously portioned and had BBQ, ranch, and thousand island sauces on the side.

Felix, the bartender is so friendly and kind!! We heard of this place all the way from Michigan and LOVED it we came for lunch, as well as back for happy hour. He made the whole experience worth it.

I tried to hit the Abbey when I go out to LA. It's a good meeting point. I love the chapel and the vibe that can happen. However, this time some of the bartenders were very rude. I asked for a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and he said I don't know where it's from. I don't think we have New Zealand then he gave me a menu and I had Kim Crawford, which is obviously from New Zealand. You would think they would know what the hell they're serving. I know they have a lot of issues but I've met some people so I'll keep going back but I think they definitely need a better vibe with some of their workers.

Ok so my first time here was yesterday, which was considered to be a "slow" night.. 🙂 Got in early, I must say I was extremely impressed, great music, talented dancers (most for sure), very liberatinh, very sexual, in your face so to speak. Its definitely NOT my scene but it was interesting to watch. Enjoy!
