The history of the building is what brought us here, along with word on the street they had good Margaritas. I definitely recommend! We got the trio of dips (guac, queso, salsa) and everything was very yummy. Guac needed more lime but no prob - we got some. Really cool place to stop for some snacks and definitely a Margarita!

The chips, salsa, and guacamole left a lot to be desired. The main dish, chicken enchiladas, were also lacking with not much flavor. The bad flavor was really highlighted by the subpar service as well. Not to mention the general lack of cleanliness. Aside from the fact that my table was just sticky everywhere, the spider that scampered across it didn’t seem to mind.

Enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance of the place. It was pretty loud and the music didn’t help. Chips & Salsa with “the works” was awesome. A ton of guac. Alley Club sandwich was just ok.

Drinks were good. Happy hour is a great deal. Service was okay. Next time I’m in town I want to try the food here. It looked great.

Drinks and guac were really bad. I’m not sure why most of their margs use “sweet and sour” mix instead of them just making a real marg for that price. I asked for marg with just Tequila, Cointreau and lime juice (a real marg) and it seemed like a drop of lime was put in and a good amount of water to fill the glass. I had to ask for extra lime juice to pour in. The guac was literally just mashed avocados with a couple diced tomato pieces. No salt in the guac was crazy to me. The chips were not good either, burnt with little flavor and once again no salt. The enchiladas were actually good, green chili had a nice flavor and spice. Our server was very kind and attentive as well.

Great spot to grab some food and hang out. Open late and located in an alley just behind Taos Plaza. Came on a weekend and it was busy, but didn't have to wait more than a few minutes for a table. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. I had the Green Chile Cheeseburger and it was the perfect spiciness level. They have a lot of other New Mexican dishes I would love to try. Guess I'll just have to go back to try them all.

The Alley Cantina serves the best hamburger and fries in New Mexico. This is what happens when someone puts their 10k hours in. To clarify, the food was simple and simply PERFECT, (it takes a fine level of skill and balance to pull the best flavors from staple ingredients) but I'm talking about the owners 10k. You need to be better than the rest to sustain this level of quality, passion, honestly, and respect in your employees, especially in this economy. Speaking of money, the food is very reasonably priced, as are the drinks. In the center town, if this isn't one of your stops when you're in Taos NM, you dun goofed.

We had nachos and a burrito for $34.67. Food was very good. Service (Nicole) was great.
