Very nice place for romantic date. Relaxing atmosphere with jazz music band in the back round. Delicious food and drinks. So if you’re looking for something different from average restaurant it is definitely place to go. 25% tip already included in the recipe. Reservation recommended

This place was absolutely magical. I love a speakeasy and especially with a thorough theme. When you walk through the door of the Bookstore Speakeasy you feel like you’re going back in time. All of the decor gives you plenty to look at. If you’re coming with a group I recommend making a reservation the space isn’t really large and it seems like on busy nights, they won’t be able to accommodate walkins. We were lucky enough to go see it at the bar, which is the best place to get all of the suggestions from the amazing bartender, Max. Shaniece was a wonderful server. They have something for everyone whether you want something sweet, boozy, citrus, or floral. Max make some experimentations based on what you are eating or your flavor pallet. We enjoyed the coconut shrimp and also the rum punch, a scotch cocktail, and a dessert spirit. I cannot wait to return.

We went for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The ambience was that of a period speakeasy with a "bookstore" in the front and the restaurant and bar in the back. Food and drink menus, rules, receipts were all in books. Along with the history of the place. I had a great time. Live music is always a treat. We dressed up because it was a special event, but no pressure to do too much in the future. We had the fries for the appetizer and forgot about to take a pic of main meal. Portions weren't huge, but no need. We will definitely go back.

I happen to be in the Bethelem area for work and decided to have dinner and cocktails at the Bookstore. I have to say that it was a the best experienced I have had at a speakeasy bar. Haley was the bartender and he took care of the experience, the first cocktail was the New Fashion followed by an experimental Sidecar and a Expresso Manhattan. For dinner I had the skirt steak with fried plantains which was cooked right on had a perfect chimichurri sauce to pair it. Haley recommended the chick pea popcorn and I was blow away for the texture and the flavor of these. After dinner I had a few other cocktails while enjoying the live jazz music. Finalized the night with a tiramisu. The ambiance was fantastic, I will definitely be back here with friends and family when in the area!!!

Don't want to give away their secrets, so I'll leave it to you to explore for yourself *winks*! I can say though, that the food was perfectly portioned, the live music was swinging, the drinks were period reminiscent with just enough modern flair to not be over the top, and the staff was top notch. Well worth the drive and reservation to experience this landmark speakeasy that has been serving the Lehigh Valley since Prohibition!

I love this place! I haven't been in many years, but it is still fantastic. Great cozy atmosphere, staff is fantastic (especially Sean, Max, and Linda (I think?!)!! The food was delish and the drinks were a flavor explosion with every sip! Definitely recommend, especially for an intimate date night. Weekend evenings, live jazz just makes the whole experience perfect!

We came to this area from 3 hours away specifically because our good friends bought us a gift certificate to this restaurant. So after driving 40 minutes from our hotel and paying for 2 hours of parking, this is the sign that greets us on the door. Mind you, nothing is published to Google so Google says it is open right now. And despite the claims of the sign to "visit our website for more information and about when we will reopen," the website says nothing about it being closed and also says that it is open right now. The only way to verify is when you try to call, the phone number doesn't work. Perhaps the person who made and laminated this nice sign on the door should have spent 2 minutes longer to follow up and make sure there was another way to know about the closure besides walking up to the door. Irresponsible much.

It is a unique experience. Really interesting (and expensive) cocktails. Amazing bartenders doing weird things like burning stuff and getting the smokey essence on your glass before making your drink, or maybe burning some of the alcohol off your Absinthe. Like stepping back in time. Often live jazz.
