The Clipper

I'm a Brazilian traveler who spent about 8 months living in Olympia last year, and let me tell you, the Clipper is where the magic happens! No place on Earth hooked me up with friends like this joint did—it's practically my second home. The crew at the Clipper? Super friendly, like, the friendliest folks you'll ever meet in any bar. And let's talk about their karaoke hosts—they're hands down the coolest in Washington and maybe even the whole wide world. I've swung by three times since leaving Olympia, and each time, it's a blast at the Clipper. Oh, and if you're LGBTQ+, this place is totally chill. No vibes of exclusion here—everyone's welcome. I always felt safe, too. Bartenders got your back, even had an ex go nuts on me once (seriously, she's a bit crazy), and the Clipper staff had me covered. They even kicked her out, major props! I can't express enough love for this spot, and I'm pumped to bring my Brazilian buddies for a good time. And seriously, don't forget to grab a Jell-O shot—it's a game-changer!

Best breakfast sandwich I have had since moving to Olympia. That is what I order almost every time I come in. The bartender during the week is so nice, she mentions new liquors that I might like and always happy to modify a drink if I ask. Prices are good and customers are fine for the most part. A new shop in downtown Olympia has accused me of writing terrible reviews and I realize that I have really enjoyed a place but don't think to write a review. I just return over and over. But I write honest reviews and intend on writing good and bad. A good one is the Clipper.

Very slow for a Thursday. Just a small dive bar when you walk in. Doors opened at 9 that led you to the back portion of the bar where karaoke was. There were a couple of unmanned bars and it looked like it could handle a big crowd. The sound system was fantastic though. I was only there for about 90 min, but I enjoyed the people who sang and Heather the KJ was great. Worth visiting if you like dive bars and karaoke. (Didn't try the food, but they have normal bar food)

Yo can we get some locks on the bathroom stalls??? And maybe some books to set out purses since we have to keep an arm stretched out to hold the door close? Ridiculous. Besides that.. a fun establishment!

Karaoke was fun but it did take a really long time to get our songs up there inspite of it being a not so busy Tuesday. Place can be really loud. The jello shots had no alcohol in them at all did not taste any alcohol in any of the welcome jello shots. A couple other cocktails we ordered were also watered down so dint really enjoy the drinks as much either. Atmosphere is good if you want to have some fun doing karaoke but be prepared to wait for a really long time to get your song played. Another point to note this place is cash only when we went.

Terry is the best bartender ever .he would make me my flaming lemon drops and I would play Richard cheese my neck my back .this place is awesome

James is a cool bartender, he sets the mood of the bar by his charismatic qualities

If you miss the year 2001, please head to this establishment immediately! Karaoke was fantastic, crowd was enthusiastic, fun time! Cash only.
