More a dive bar than a cocktail bar. Very loud, packed and slow service. The drink were good though - recommend high tea

Felt that I should leave this review after a surprise $20 was added to our bill after my friend and I spent the evening sipping on what we thought were happy hour cocktails. We arrived at 5:45 for their happy hour from 4-7. Our waitress was attentive throughout the night however when we asked her about the bill, she made it out to be our fault for not examining the menu thoroughly enough. We had made it clear at the beginning we were there for happy hour so it’s disappointing she didn’t direct us accordingly when we ordered our cocktails. She even said “we have a sign outside,” despite the fact we had been sitting inside. She offered to speak to her manager but then appeared to only walk out of the restaurant to attend to other tables and walked back in to give us the same check, shrugging handing us the same bill. Cocktails were good, food was fine, and service ended up disappointing. Won’t be coming back.

From my experience, Headless Widow has been nothing short of an amazing experience and fun time. The vibes are always on point! The bartenders are friendly and engaging! And the crowd is a great mix of 20-30 something’s in large groups looking to unwind or couples on dates scattered around the

Best cocktails that I’ve ever had — no exaggeration. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable, personable, professional & inviting. Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in a restaurant in a very long time. I will be coming back here every single time I’m in the city! HIGHLY recommend.

The atmosphere is the best of any restaurant I've been in (as far as I remember). It's comfortable yet classy. Inviting yet elegant. The drinks are high quality for a reasonable price, and the waiters are friendly and professional. I ordered their Brisket Sliders + Fries from the menu, and the dish is genuinely good quality & quantity for $24. I definitely see this becoming a regular spot for me.

Really enjoyed the vibe here! We got very lucky as someone was leaving right as we were entering so we got a table within a couple of minutes otherwise there can be a bit of a wait here. The staff was super friendly as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and apps here. We ended up leaving only because our reservation for the next bar came through or else would have spent even more time here. Very nice for a casual night with friends or date night too.

We stopped in The Headless Widow on our last night in NYC while walking through the neighborhood. The happy hour special and atmosphere drew us in. The music was great, loud enough to fit the vibe and have privacy from nearby tables but not so loud you need to yell. We didn’t love our happy hour cocktails Botanical Disco and Time Traveler as they were heavier on the fresh citrus than we prefer (certain cocktails are HH priced). We debated trying to get into the speakeasy next door but knowing it would be packed and not wanting to judge THW on their happy hour specials, we decided to hold onto our table and gave a few more cocktails a shot. So glad we did! My absolute favorite was the lip gloss. The essence sprayed to finish it and the sugar rim perfectly complimented the sweet, juicy cocktail. The essence made the stem of the coupe glass a little sticky, however it’s served with a wet towel and well worth it! I had 3 of those! My husband liked the Blacker The Berry as his favorite of the night. He described it as an upscale slightly spiced sangria. We also tried Smokey & The Bandit, Passenger Princess + Hubbs ordered a regular old fashioned with Makers. All very good! Service was top notch on a busy night. If you’re heading there for a drink before going next door, stay a while! We stayed for hours and explored the menu for a fraction of the price next door and didn’t feel like we missed out whatsoever.
