The Heavy Anchor feels like my home away from home. They offer a wide variety of drinks, plenty of non-alcoholic options, and a nice selection of frozen pizzas, including vegan choices. The Anchor hosts a wide range of events—music, comedy, poetry, dance parties, and more—not to mention a great selection of board games, pinball, and foosball. The staff is always welcoming and a pleasure to interact with, and the owners are some of the nicest, most genuine people I know. Whenever I get the itch to go out, The Anchor is always my first choice.

We went by on a whim on Saturday night because we had heard it was good. There was an event going so we were surprised to find there's a cover, but it wasn't outrageous so we paid it to get in. This is a very queer-friendnly venue with a unique interior. We didn't have any food, but the menu seemed like it had options. The drinks were delicious and shockingly affordable (other places charge $12+ for 4oz of cocktail, I got at least 12 Oz here for $6). We will be going back when there isn't an event to try out the rest of the menu.

I love the Heavy Anchor! Such a wide variety of events, always a chill vibe, and pizza to wash down with your drink. One of my fave places.

Great Bar & venue. We love the Heavy Anchor and here's why. The owners Josh & Jodie are great people that are friendly and helpful and always a pleasure to see.The venue side has a good sound system that is run professionally and there are always quality acts booked. The shows run on time and the lighting is good. The bar is well stocked with domestic & craft beer as well as quality liqueurs. There is always a friendly vibe here.We have made many friends here as well. We always recommend touring bands play here when we meet them out of town. Go here, its cool and there is plenty of parking in the big lot at the end of the block..

Watched a new band there on a Friday night. The jagger prices were great and service was excellent. The band was great and the atmosphere was as well. Highly recommend. Did not have any food there. Just drinks and good tines

If super cool Dive is still a compliment then that describes Heavy Anchor to a tee. Dogtown pizza is the only food but who doesn't love that? Drinks are cheap and bar staff was friendly AF. Best of all, they have a stage in the back for shows, I saw comedy/improv but sounds like they have bands too.
