I’ve never been to a bar where it felt like the staff didn’t want us there, until I went to Karaoke Palace. This was the strangest and most uncomfortable bar experience I’ve ever had. There were signs around the entire bar about how we should behave and things that we are not allowed to do (like cheer and clap for our friends when they are singing). My friends walked in a few minutes before me, and had asked the waitress if they serve cocktails. They mentioned that they don’t and only have beer or wine. After which my friend looked over to our other friend and said if there’s a bar around here, we can go grab a quick drink (we were in Walla Walla to celebrate a 30th birthday). To which the waitress responds if you go leave to go to a bar, you will not be allowed back in here. As soon as I walked in and sat down a rude waitress came up to me and asked me if I was going to buy something. I said that I was good for now and would order in a little bit. She then told me that I have to order something if I wanted to stay. I ordered a few waters, which were “great value” brand, of which each bottle cost $5.50. I agree with a previous review, that if I could give this establishment zero stars, I would.

Watch out for fuzzy math!! I ordered a basic soda-pop. The sign-board price says $1.75, but I was charged $3.75 plus "service charge". Trick me once... Not again. I was there a very short time just to try the place out. I paid what the bill said. But then asked -- why is the price so different? The 2 ladies that were running the place said they charge $2 extra on a soda-pop at Karaoke times -- even though that isn't written anywhere at all. They said it is because the college kids come in and sit all night on one soda-pop, so this is how they make up for it. Adding a 15% service charge to me was bizarre as well. Their menu says that tables ordering $50 or more will have a service charge added of 15%. I think they were just expecting I didn't see it and then tipped them more. I was going to tip a few dollars on my soda-pop, but then since they added that service charge then that's all they got. It seems they just make up prices out of their own judgement. Will not return and cannot recommend. It is a shame, since it is decorated very interesting, and the man that ran the Karaoke was fun. My advice to the owners is to simply make a minimum charge per person, instead of using prices that aren't what is actually stated. But, what do I know... I'm just a customer.

I wish I could give them zero!!! Terrible place. Lady approached us immediately and said:" Whistling is not allowed", before we even got in She also told people:" Wish you waited till 8 oclock, 7pm to 8 pm is my break" The whole place smells bad. Do NOT go!!

Workers there were rude and scolded our friend for cheering. So many rules signs around the “palace” stating no whistling, no hitting your hand on the table etc. For a can of non alcoholic seltzer water it was over $6, which was more than some of the beer and wine options.

Went with a group of six people with a designated driver. Designated driver order a water informed us that everyone at the table needed to order drinks. We were the only table in the establishment. We left, the server became incredibly rude. How can responsible customers be the problem when nobody else is even patronizing?

Where do I start... Nice museum of old stuff, always fun to watch karaoke... Until the anti fun witch comes rolling out. Almost worth going there to see all the "no" signs posted everywhere, and of course to be scolded and kicked out. The reviews don't lie, it's bonkers.

I cannot believe I’m having to write this. Imagine you and your five friends want to all go out, and being responsible, one of your friends if the DD. So, of course, they will drink water (or something non-alcoholic). You walk in, and the place is empty besides another table. Everyone orders their drinks, and the last person (the DD) asks for a water and the server tells them to leave! That “if you’re only having water, you’re taking up space for people who would order a drink!” We all decided we’d leave at the point. I understand if the whole party, or majority of the party orders water, I could see the establishment frowning upon that (you need business, after all). But for them to not only encourage safe driving and being responsible, but for them to be upset over it, is a reason me or my friends will never come back. Shame on you all. Guess I shouldn’t be surprised given the other poor reviews on here, but this is absolutely absurd.

When I entered the Karaoke Palace, it was like walking into a 1950's diner with an authentic soda fountain. A drink purchase is required. The song selection appears infinite as they had every sing requested, including some strange ones. The crowd started out small, however, as the night wore in, the place became packed. Everyone from Whitman College students, to tourists, to locals filled the place. The talent ranged from great attempts to the next American Idol. I had immense fun. I will definitely return to this venue
