The Margaret

My first Corpse Reviver ( I think) First of all- I LOVE this space!! Sunday early afternoon and I’m the only person here, probably because the rest of Birmingham is watching football. Their loss. This space was formerly Atomic Lounge, which I never took time to visit. My loss. Gotta give praise to the bartender! Great attitude, well made cocktail. I’ll be back!

My wife and I stopped by here last weekend and enjoyed the atmosphere and the cocktail menu. The Corpse Reviver was quite tasty and the bartenders were knowledgeable and very nice. When we fist arrived it was sparsely populated but got quite busy before we left sometime around midnight. It's located on 1st Avenue North and pretty convenient if you are staying downtown and want to go to a cool bar with good drinks. We are definitely adding it to our regular watering hole list.

Linley, who is the GM, served me tonight was wonderful. Her attentiveness and mood was very inviting and made me feel welcome and safe. The service and drinks were excellent.

Last Saturday was our first time at The Margaret. Had a blast! The entire atmosphere was perfect. Sat at the bar. The service was amazing and the drinks were delicious. Will be returning again and highly recommend. (Not sure if they serve food but also, we didn't ask for a food menu.)

Last night was our second time at The Margaret. The place/décor/atmosphere are really unique and cool. But, we left without ordering after sitting at the bar for at least 15 minutes without the bartender ever even coming over to greet us much less take our order (she did wave slightly from the other end of the bar to say she'd be with us soon). There were maybe 10 people in the entire place. Extremely disappointing experience unfortunately.

Great low key atmosphere. My partner smokes so we sat outside and enjoyed the "no traffic" weekend afternoon.

A place to grab good, fair priced drinks, have some fun with board games or by lounging around chatting, and now a place to catch a late night dinner too. Love it!

Stopped in on a Wednesday night when it was cold and rainy so not a great time to evaluate as there were only a few people there. I live downtown so very happy to have this establishment part of the neighborhood. I was impressed with the decor, loved the lightning (dark bar) and thought it was the perfect size for a downtown dive bar. My major disappointment is they don’t serve draft beer. I consider this a must for a good dive bar and it is especially surprising given all of the outstanding local beers in the state. That being said I recommend going and certainly I will return.
