The Mule Tavern

I’ve visited Mule tavern several times now. The late night happy house is great. I recommend the Tenacious D drink. Bartenders are nice and the grilled cheese and other vegetarian options are top notch. Def a local favorite.

A lovely and calm bar right on STW, with friendly staff good drinks and pretty good food! Every other Thursday there's a tarot reader who really knows their stuff, so if you like chill vibes and predictions for the future, it's definitely a place to check out!

One of the best bars in Tacoma! They make their own ginger beer, which is unmatched! Also a fan of the outdoor seating options. Love bringing out of town guests, as well as locals who have never been. Our favorite bartender is Chelsea for sure.

Great place! Come in and enjoy some time with friends. Though the selection is small, the drinks are very well made with a great taste. The food selection is not quite what I expected. Hopefully they'll upgrade their selection or at least their ingredients for the food they already offer. Very clean and organized inside. You come in and don't look out of place or confused. Staff are friendly and approachable-not put off by having customers ask questions.

New to the area and looking for a new go to bar. The Mule tavern had a good vibe and the music was diverse. They have darts and a pole table for $1.00 of play. Staff was very professional and brought drinks over if the wait was long. Only thing that caught me off gaurd were the prices and the receipts that don’t clarify what all was ordered. We ordered 2 double shot of Hennessy and coke in a short glass and ginger beer with single shot of vodka all totaling $69.00. Not to mention the Hennessy in a short glass with coke didn’t taste like it . Just wish the receipt clarified had some sort of breakdown.

Drinks were great and the bartender was friendly. It's a typical dive bar atmosphere which is nice. Just was wishing that people weren't smoking right outside the open front door. The nice breeze rolling in was carrying the cigarette smoke with it. Otherwise a great place for adults to get a good mixed drink.

I really love this place. Not exactly a place to get food, they have white castle burgers and cup of noodles. Not that I'm above eating those but just don't come for dinner. The real joy is the cocktails. Great knowledge and selection. Also the home made tonic and ginger beer is a great touch. The decor is amazing as well, like a nice dive, but dive isn't the right word. Dive-chic? anyway top choice if you're down on S. Tacoma Way.

I think this was my 3rd time attending Ladies Night for Planned Parenthood, at The Mule. This is a Bar with heart; inclusive, proactive, welcoming. If you don't already know, the home brewed ginger beer is stellar! Thanks to Katie for spinning the tunes!
