The Slammer

Great bar with a high quality beer and (extensive!) whiskey selection, set in a former jail house. Dog friendly with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly and knowledgeable bartender. Beers were great.

The beer and whisky selection here is unmatched in town. Bartenders are chill and laid back. They are knowledgeable about the drinks they serve, especially the selection of local (Colorado) brews. The vibe and overall atmosphere is upbeat, but relaxed. This is by far my favorite bar in BV - hands down. Highly recommended.

The extremely affable owners of the Slammer have absolutely nailed a fun niche experience in BV: a highly curated American whiskey selection of which they are very knowledgeable, delicious craft beer representative of breweries across the country, a few fun small snacks, select canned wine/beverages, and an uncommon setting...an old historic jailhouse. All of which made for spectacular birthday libations and celebrations! Cheers to a job well done, fellas!

The Slammer was fantastic! The inside is small, but there's two spacious outdoor areas that have fire pits for chilly nights. One of the outdoor areas is next to a small children's play area. The Slammer itself is themed like a jailhouse. It has two working pinball machines that you can play in a jail cell. It was cute. The menu is fairly simple. Mostly ciders, beers, and IPAs. They have three listed cocktails. The bar staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even when the town was busy, it wasn't crowded at the Slammer. 10/10 highly recommend. Note: If you are looking for food, they didn't seem to serve anything. However, a taco truck shares one of their outdoor spaces. I saw many people getting a taco from the truck and a drink from the Slammer. They just ate outside in the shared space.

Wonderful event space! Everyone kept raving about what a great event. Inside space and outdoor patio. Held our group perfectly. Very easy to work with as well. The team really went above and beyond.

Rare and barrel proof whiskey on offer by folks who know their stuff. Great beer list to back your dram. Built in the old historic jailhouse on Main Street, the surroundings couldn’t be more perfect. Close to the riverfront and the kayak shop, plenty of recreation post incarceration

Great whiskey bar with cider, beer, and wine options. Also there’s some seltzers and sodas. Great knowledgeable bartenders. Great local recommendations. Wonderful to stop in and see, would recommend to anyone coming through Buena Vista. Some light snacks available - jerky sticks and pretzels.
