Authentic speakeasy where you need a password to get into that's located below the Maxwell. We came on a Friday night and it got very busy right when it opened at 9p, so plan to come then or later as most people just had one drink then left. It was nice to get a good cocktail and explore the small space, worth checking out if you are in the area.

AMAZING mixologist (Renee) sweet, helpful and fun to chat with while she’s working her magic. Excellent vibe. Had a plumbing issue so they didn’t open “on time” but they were very cool and helpful about getting as much of the bar open as soon as they could instead of just closing for the night. Super glad we got to have the experience we will definitely be back to see the rest of the place

This bar had a great, authentic speakeasy vibe. The cocktails were delicious, and in addition to the Wisconsin old fashion, they made an excellent traditional old fashion, which made my bourbon-loving Kentucky boy husband super happy. If we lived in the area, it would be a regular spot for us.

Basement bar in the Maxwell Mansion, Lake Geneva, styled after the speakeasies of the prohibition era. Fun. Quite small, was very crowded when we were there on a Saturday night. Cocktails, beers, wine. A very cool place.

Drinks were ok, but the bartender was incredibly rude to my friend who asked if she made any mocktails, as she doesn’t drink alcohol but wanted to hang out with her friends that do. A simple but kind no would have been fine. It made us feel very unwelcome. Overall it was not a pleasant experience as it was also super loud and very crowded.

I went last year as a hotel guest and loved the drinks, but this year's trip was rough - the bartender had no interest in controlling a very loud, very rowdy crowd that were fully screaming at each other (at 9 PM, not near bar close) when the overall background volume did not warrant it. My fiance and I waited behind/by the group who were yelling and monopolizing the bar, hoping that the bartender would realize we were trying to order, but she didn't seem to notice or care. It was uncomfortable enough that we eventually went upstairs to the apothecary. We could hear the speakeasy patrons yelling from the basement below but stayed for the excellent drinks and service that we received at the apothecary.

This was great. They have a real speakeasy experience from the entry through the atmosphere and drinks. This is a worthwhile stop. I genuinely believe if you’re with the right person, you’ll have a lively evening.
