This place is the perfect all in one experience. Upstairs the rooms are well kept, comfortable, with the amenities you’ll need & downstairs is the cozy bar/dining room that looks out on the course. Food is great! They take an original approach to some common offerings which keeps the selection fun. Keep Eric, CJ, & their staff in mind for any events or catering you may need (they worked with us on allergen free offerings too which isn’t an easy thing to do!). They do weddings too!

Great location. Hooper golf course is well maintained and provides the perfect backdrop. The constant light breeze cools you, the birds chirping and the light banter among the golfers create a peaceful atmosphere.

This place is wonderful. I was on a long car ride with my toddler when my phone died — I was still an hour from home, and I needed the maps app to get there! The people at the tavern were so kind and welcoming and sorted me out: charged my phone, gave us food that both my kid and I loved, and turned a disastrous evening into a lovely one. You might expect a historic tavern on a golf course to be stuffy, but it wasn’t at all. It was friendly and relaxed, and everyone was all smiles toward my rambunctious toddler, which isn’t always the case at a nice restaurant. It’s a gorgeous building, but the people are even better: true hospitality.

I’ve visited this beautiful tavern twice now, and it’s quickly turned into my new "spot" in town. I love that I’ve found another local place with guaranteed good food, great views, and solid drinks.

I went to the Tavern for the first time, after five p.m. When I arrived there were two very young, unexperienced girls behind the bar. They greeted me appropriately. I was the only one there. No music was playing until more people arrived. I order a glass of wine which I received in a glass, not a wine glass. I also ordered the egg rolls. The atmosphere was perfectly historic. The egg rolls were quite unremarkable. The egg rolls were not full of cabbage and had little taste until I dipped them in the Thai sauce. At no time did either of the ladies ask how I was doing or if I was enjoying the food. Small groups of people arrived, obviously locals. The girls attended to them with earnest. They seemed to know these people. I had to ask for the check. When I paid the bill, no one asked if everything was ok. It was a turn off. Overall.....needs work.

I had the opportunity to visit the Inn and Tavern after a delightful round of golf last week. The 12 members of our party sat outside on the beautiful screened in porch overlooking the golf course. The variety of beers on tap combined with a great selection of wine was most impressive. The new owners have taken great pride in retaining some of the original structures and artwork in interesting ways to make the inn and tavern feel cozy yet current!! I will be back and hope to stay for a few days next time!
