Great beer selection. Considering how busy they get, the bartenders are pretty attentive and nice. The food however…I’ve tried at least 6 different dishes over the last few months. I know that most folks really like their food. To me it’s is mid at best. To each their own I suppose. At least I like the beer, and an occasional sake shot.

I was curious about the food here, and I was surprised. It's small, dark and loud and I was told it wasn't that busy. I'm not into crowds, so eating in wasn't in the cards. The Cajun pasta with the crawdads wad the way to go. Little flavor bombs and cooked perfectly. The Mardi Gras pasta was equally tasty. Very good sausage and ham that you didn't have to search for in the pasta. Both of these I got at level 12 heat which was just right. You know it's right when your nose runs. I like that you have a choice of how hot you want the spice level. I can only imagine what the 40 level is like. The stir fry would have been better with pasta, the rice was a let down. The shark sauce was spot on with the wings. A little sweet with the heat. I'd like the sauce on the side and a crispy wing, but that's my taste. Overall I was happy with my first visit and I'll be back to try something new. Don't be intimated by their security at the main door, they take underage drinking seriously and it's appreciated.

I went here a couple of months ago on a business trip with co workers. Had to wait for a table, but we did have a large group. Food was good. Tried to come here again last week at 7pm for another co worker dinner, and we were turned away at the door because one of our party was under 21. So had to move to a different location. I was not really happy that we were turned away.

Walked in and it was dimly lit with writing all over the ceiling tiles and that faint smell of spilled beer wafting through the air. I knew immediately it was likely gonna be some of the best food I would ever eat. When they brought out my wings on a picnic paper plate that sealed the deal. Best wings hands down. Shark Sauce 10s and fries absolutely hit the spot!

Really a wonderful place. Very casual, lived-in environment with plenty of personality pieces. The benches have names of previous patrons carved in them, it's completely not fancy but for me that was part of the appeal. This is a local bar with years of history, the wear of the years is apparent, but somehow this was not a drawback for me. Some might be put off by what I considered a charming vintage look. This is a bar with food and surprisingly is really the only place I can think of that brings in the Louisiana Cajun cuisine to Grand Forks. Jambalaya is a regular special and it's the only place in Grand Forks where I've seen crawdads on the menu. They have a larger variety though and I very much enjoyed their lavosh. Another interesting niche they provide, possibly going along with the Cajun theme, is spicy heat. Many of the dishes can be ordered on a heat range from 1 to 40. I consider myself to be very tolerant and enjoy mouthwatering, tear inducing, and runny nose induced heat. I roll my eyes at just about every other restaurant calling their food spicy. Not here, they're serious about the heat. I got the shark wings at a level of 20, loved them, but was gulping water and tearing up. I'll not try higher for quite a while but happily bought 8 ounces of the shark sauce (at level 20) to take home. I can also recommend the Mardi Gras pasta as excellent. The food arrives on paper plates, this sort of turned me off years ago, but I think I've matured enough to focus on what's important, the food. The service has been excellent. They are attentive, anticipate needs, and offer very good suggestions. The server is a great resource for deciding your likely spice tolerance. I have not a single unkind word about any of them and already know three of them by name on sight despite having only gone there twice. The bar also offers a blackjack table, pull tabs, and electronic 'pull tab' machines though not many of the latter. I can't really comment on their beer and liquor offerings, I only went there for the food (again odd for a bar). In short, a great local place without pretention, but with tremendous, unique, food. Well worth the trip. I will certainly be back.

We loved the sauce on the wings but there was so much of it the wings were a soggy sloppy mess. The service was good but the place was definitely a dive bar. Women’s bathroom should have a warning. The cleanliness alone will keep us from returning.

Here on business at AFB, from San Antonio, TX. Guys at base recommended this plase "best wings in town". Had to taste it for myself. I travel alot in all ISA, Canada, Mexico and South America. The cajun fries are very good, impressed of the taste, recommend to get a batch. As for wings: got half order. #7 (spice), Shark sauce. The wings were different, it wasnt bad, just for me it tasted like mole chicken (Mexican style sauce). It might be a ND wing style, it wasnt bad, just different style of wings. Service was great, good atmosphere, its small area so seats are limited. In all ok place to hang out and have a beer.

Wings are cooked well and the right size for a great wing. The sauces should be improved. The Shark sauce was described as hot BBQ but tastes like bad red enchilada sauce, not good. The jerk sauce was so so.
